What are Managed Services?
Managed Services is a term that had gained in popularity for good reason and is embraced or being switched to by many and diverse businesses. This differs from the traditional break/fix model with Managed Service Providers by allowing a business to outsource or offload all of their Information Technology operations. The Managed Service Provider (MSP) assumes the responsibility for the ongoing health of the organization's I.T. including 24/7 monitoring and pro-active problem resolution for employees and IT systems.
Why are Managed Services Needed?
Any business, no matter the size or scale, need technology to run their business efficiently and to compete in the marketplace. However, with the ever-growing reliance on Information Technology, the resources needed to support the increasingly complex Information Technology environment may not be available. For many small to mid-size businesses IT resources are limited and can become overwhelming pretty fast.
The inability to keep up with regular maintenance like patches, security and backup systems can lead to a higher risk for system outages that can hurt your business. For every minute that a company's systems are down they are losing productivity which leads to revenue losses.
